SCHEDULE Notes -> Level I-III classes for experienced students continue to meet on the Zoom platform, and are gradually re-opening for in-person/hybrid offerings. Foundations/Beginning Level class series are offered periodically.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Beginning/Foundations: Classes designed for students new or returning to the Iyengar method. Basic standing and other fundamental poses are taught. Please email the Center if you are interested in registering for this class series.
Level I: Minimum 6 months Iyengar Yoga required. Continuing study of basic poses. Complex standing poses, seated poses and Sarvangasana cycle introduced. Ongoing.
Level II: Sirsasana and backbending asanas are introduced. Continuing study of poses from previous levels. Four years minimum self-directed practice and four years current study with a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher required. Ongoing.
Level III: Consistent and self-directed practice of poses from previous levels required. Seven years minimum self-directed practice and seven years current study with a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. Call the Center before attending to request permission from the instructor. Ongoing.
We recite Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras 15 minutes prior to the start of Level I-III classes. Handouts are provided in English and Sanskrit.
