WELCOME

The BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of Minneapolis is a well-established school of yoga study that has been at its present location at 2736 Lyndale Avenue South since 1987. We take a systematic approach to the practice of yoga. The classes taught at the Center are based on the teachings of Shri BKS Iyengar who based his teachings on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the profound and timeless classical text of yoga. 

According to Patanjali, the correct practice and study of yoga can lead to health of the body, serenity of the mind and removal of the obstacles to spiritual evolution.

Gratitude and good wishes to Center founders Kristin Chirhart and Lee Sverkerson, our local senior teachers for over 30 years, who provided for the Center's transition so we could continue our study and community in yoga.
